Power Outages in Nicosia Due to Technical Fault - Appeal for Consumption Reduction

Areas of Nicosia were affected by power outages on Friday due to a technical fault in the EAC distribution system. Supply has been temporarily restored via alternative feeds, but the EAC is calling on residents of the affected areas (Engomi, Agios Domettios, Archangelos, Acropolis, part of Strovolos and Lakatamia) to limit electricity consumption to absolute necessities until midnight, due to low temperatures and increased demand. EAC crews are working to fully restore power. Separately, a fault occurred on Tseriou Avenue, where a contractor cut an EAC cable.
