PSE Condemns US Intervention in Venezuela – Protest Planned

The Pan-Cypriot Peace Council (PSE) strongly condemns the US military intervention in Venezuela, describing it as a violation of international law and the country's sovereignty. The PSE argues that the US aims to control Venezuela's rich oil reserves. The intervention includes the abduction of the legitimately elected President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, which has sparked international outcry. Russia and Cuba have also condemned the action, while the European Union limited itself to a call for restraint. The Venezuelan government is requesting an urgent convening of the UN Security Council. The US military operation, reportedly carried out by special forces, is causing concern for the stability of the region. The PSE calls on the international community to defend international law and the right of peoples to decide their future, warning of the danger of Latin America being turned into a field of geopolitical games.
