Radiologists Allege Exclusion from Parliament - Risk of Diagnostic Centers Without Radiologists

The Cyprus Radiological Society (CRS) is strongly protesting its exclusion from the discussion of the bill regarding Diagnostic Centers in Parliament. The society accuses the President of the Parliamentary Health Committee of selective consultations, marginalizing the scientifically competent body. The CRS expresses concerns that the bill is being altered, with proposals creating confusion between the roles of radiologists and technologists, thus degrading medical practice and violating radiation protection legal frameworks. It highlights that removing the institutional role of the radiologist will lead to the abolition of the mandatory contract with a specialist radiologist, the degradation of medical practice, and the alteration of the scientific substance of radiology. The society calls on the President of the Parliament to immediately suspend the discussion of the bill, fully hear the CRS, and ensure a fair and institutional process.
