Ski Slope at Troodos Closed 24 Hours After Opening – Vehicles Caused Damage (Photos)

The Sun Valley I (Aphrodite) ski slope at Troodos was closed just 24 hours after its opening due to extensive damage caused by 4x4 vehicles that illegally entered the slope during the night. The damage to the snow-covered ground rendered the slope non-functional and dangerous for skiers. Unknown individuals breached the fences that had been placed to prevent vehicle access to the slope. Similar incidents often occur when there is little snow and vehicles can easily enter. The slope will remain closed until the damage is repaired. However, the Family Run SV 1 (beginners only) and the Sun Valley BABY Lift remain open as usual. In addition, the North Face slope lift is open for walking and viewing, but not for skiing.
