Storm Goretti Batters Northern Europe with Power Outages and Flight Cancellations

Storm Goretti swept across Northern Europe, causing widespread power outages, flight cancellations, and disruptions to rail services in France, Britain, Germany, and the Netherlands. In France, around 380,000 homes were left without power, while in Scotland and central England approximately 57,000 homes faced the same issue. Flights were cancelled in the Netherlands and long-distance train services suspended in Germany. In Britain, record wind speeds were recorded in the Isles of Scilly and many schools remained closed. The storm was described as one of the most severe in recent years in Germany.
