Donald Trump, in an interview with the Wall Street Journal, explained the cause of the bruises on his hands, attributing them to the higher-than-recommended dose of aspirin he takes daily. The 79-year-old former US president stated that he prefers to take 325 milligrams of aspirin, instead of the usual dose of 81 milligrams, as he believes it helps keep the blood thin and prevents blood clots in the heart. At the same time, Trump denied claims that he falls asleep during public appearances. The high dose of aspirin can cause bruising, according to him.
