Valentina Rzheutskaya, Executive Director of the Limassol-headquartered fintech, Capital.com, Urges Ethical and Inclusive AI Development at Economist Cyprus Summit

At The Economist’s 21st Annual Cyprus Summit, held on November 3–4, 2025, at the Hilton Nicosia, Ms. Valentina Rzheutskaya, Executive Director of the fintech group Capital.com, delivered a keynote speech titled “Building a Future-Ready Workforce.” Her address explored how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping the world of work and called for stronger legal and ethical safeguards to ensure technology benefits people and society.
Representing Capital.com — a global fintech platform known for embedding AI into its daily operations — Ms. Rzheutskaya underscored how the company uses artificial intelligence responsibly to make work more efficient and insights more accessible. She emphasized that every innovation at Capital.com is guided by transparency, fairness, and strong human oversight.
Ms. Rzheutskaya noted that AI is “not just a new tool, but a new way of thinking”, emphasizing that the focus should be on helping people grow with AI rather than be replaced by it. She stressed the urgent need for clear global frameworks to govern AI’s use and evolution, citing the EU’s AI Act as a positive start but highlighting remaining gaps around accountability, intellectual property, and data rights.
“We must define the limits of AI’s use — especially where human livelihoods, privacy, and dignity are at stake,” she said. “Without clear boundaries, innovation risks outpacing our ability to protect people and uphold rights.”
Calling for a new mix of skills that combines digital literacy with human strengths such as ethics, creativity, and emotional intelligence, Ms. Rzheutskaya urged businesses to invest in continuous learning and responsible innovation.
She also highlighted AI’s potential to empower women, noting that digital tools and remote work can help close gender gaps and expand career opportunities. “We need women not only using AI, but shaping how it’s built and governed,” she said.
Concluding her remarks, Ms. Rzheutskaya reaffirmed that the future of work will be “not only more digital, but more human,” and added that Capital.com will continue to drive responsible innovation, financial access, and high ethical standards across its global business.
The 21st Annual Cyprus Summit, themed “Bridging Continents for Security, Business and Energy,” brought together global and regional leaders to discuss the future of technology, sustainability, and regional cooperation.
