Videogate: Protagonists Gather Evidence to Prove Deliberate Editing of Conversations

The protagonists of the video that has caused a political uproar in Cyprus are working to gather evidence regarding their conversations with the alleged Dutch 'investors'. Their goal is to prove that the video contains a deliberate splicing of discussions and does not reflect the true picture. According to information, in one of the conversations, Giorgos Lakkotrypis mentioned a contribution of 75,000 euros from a Cypriot company, which was given after the fires in the mountainous region of Limassol and is not related to either President Christodoulides or the elections. The meetings with the Dutch allegedly included a proposal for a 'contribution to the election campaign of Nikos Christodoulides', which at the time did not raise suspicions. The government describes the video as an attempt at manipulation and a hybrid threat. The Police are investigating the case and expect a statement from Giorgos Lakkotrypis in order to evaluate the evidence and determine the potential offenses.
