Wet and Cold Weather Incoming: Storms, Hail, and Snow in the Forecast

Cyprus is expected to experience wet and cold weather in the coming days due to a weak low-pressure system. Today, local showers are forecast, with possible thunderstorms and hail along the coasts, and sleet on the highest peaks of Troodos. Winds will be mainly northeasterly, light to moderate, and the sea will be rough. Temperatures will be around 8 degrees Celsius inland, 11 degrees Celsius on the coast, and 3 degrees Celsius in the mountains, with a possibility of frost. Tomorrow, the weather will be mostly cloudy with isolated showers, especially in the afternoon in the west, southwest, and mountainous areas. Winds will remain northeasterly to southeasterly, light to moderate, and the sea will be up to rough. Temperatures will rise to around 15 degrees Celsius inland and on the coast, and 7 degrees Celsius in the mountains. Tomorrow night, the weather will deteriorate again with local showers and thunderstorms, with a possibility of hail and snow/sleet on Troodos. Winds will remain light to moderate. Saturday will see local showers and thunderstorms, with snow in the higher mountains, but improvement is expected in the afternoon. Sunday and Monday will be partly cloudy with a chance of rain in the mountains. Temperatures will remain at the same levels on Saturday, rise on Sunday, and stabilize on Monday. The snow height at Chionistra is already 19 centimeters.
